[Cancer and Society] Why haven't we cured cancer?

On May 17, 2017, in Bethnal Green's Working Man's Club (London, UK), the wreckage of past parties was noticeable, adding to the clandestine-like atmosphere at this event. Groups of friends and strangers sat round tables to listen to Dr Laura Dowsett, a vascular biologist at University College London (London, UK), present her research. She divided her talk into four sections: what is cancer? Why are blood vessels important in this disease? What strategies can be used against cancer? And why don't these strategies work?
