Abstract
A man in his seventies underwent esophagogastroduodenoscopy, which revealed a 30-mm whitish protruding lesion at the descending part of the duodenum. Owing to the protrusion and reddish depressed area on the lesion, invasive cancer was suspected (Fig. 1A). Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) with a 20-MHz miniature probe (UM-3R, Olympus Medical Systems, Tokyo, Japan) revealed an intramucosal hypoechoic lesion and a thickened high echoic submucosal layer with acoustic attenuation (Fig. 1B).
